Antigone, founder and CEO, Antigone House Co., is a former undocumented-immigrant. She became a naturalized citizen when she married an American citizen. On the day of her American citizenship naturalization, a Senior US Immigration Officer urged her to Americanize her name, so she did. When Brazilians considered her a ‘Brazilian tourist’ (officially rejected the Americanization of her name), she renounced her Brazilian birth citizenship.
- Antigone went to France to study the lithic assemblages (stone tools and the byproducts of how they were made) of Neanderthals and prehistoric humans (PhD Research).
- She was an Anthropology Professor (Adjunct-Faculty) at Napa Valley College, Napa, California. Courses taught at Napa College: Intro. Biological Anthropology & Laboratory, Intro. Cultural Anthropology, Anthropology of Childhood, Anthropology of Religion, Linguistic Anthropology.
- In Cambridge (Peterhouse, UK), Antigone lived in a building (basement flat) contiguous to the flat Charles Darwin once lived back in the 1820s.
